Multi million-dollar scholarship:-
At a time, when funding and scholarship options for overseas education are gradually becoming a rarity, the University of Melbourne has launched a multi million-dollar scholarship program to provide the next generation of researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs in Melbourne and India with access to the best research and training opportunities available in both the countries.
Launched on November 11, the $3 million (AUD) initiative, which will provide 16 PhD scholarships and associated support for research exchanges over the next three years, is part of the Melbourne-India Postgraduate Programmable (MI PP)-a joint initiative of the University of Melbourne with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM).
INNOVATION SHOWCASE
Besides the scholarship program, the Australian Innovation Showcase India 2013 was launched on November 11, which will bring the largest ever group of Australian researchers and academics to visit India to demonstrate Australia's research , innovation and technological credentials to leading figures within industry in India.
The program of events over one month will highlight Australian research and technology in knowledge-based industries where Australia has a competitive world class offering including information technology, biotechnology and life-sciences , materials science for advanced manufacturing and energy efficiency.
